OVERVIEW
Asda, one of our long-standing clients, appointed us as nominated contractor to provide the mechanical services to its new store in Middleton, Leeds.
We installed a range of mechanical facilities including air conditioning units to offices, warehouse heaters, domestic services, customer toilets and shop floor heating and ventilation.
CHALLENGE
We were given a tight programme of just eight weeks to have the new store ready and open to the public.
Meticulous planning was needed in order to meet the short turnaround time.
SOLUTION
As nominated contractor we ensured all businesses working on the store were ready and introduced to the site on a rolling basis to avoid any downtime.
Energy efficiency measures were at the heart of the works and these link to Asda’s energy monitoring system located at its head office.
To meet Asda’s fuel reduction targets, our work included a selection of low carbon technologies; air source heat pumps, rainwater harvesting, solar panels and solar thermal.
RESULTS
We met the tight programme thanks to our planning and just in time project management and have gone on to work on more Asda stores since.
