OVERVIEW
In partnership with Eddisons, Collective Vision Trust secured Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) support for essential heating upgrades at Hinstock Primary School in Market Drayton. The existing system, installed in 1999, with elements dating back over 40 years, was no longer fit for purpose. Failures across the boiler, pumps, pipework, and controls led to regular heating and hot water outages, causing disruption and even temporary school closures.
Following a competitive tender process, G&H was appointed to deliver a more reliable and energy efficient solution. The team designed and installed a modern heating system, integrating sustainable, low-carbon technologies and replacing all outdated plant to ensure a comfortable and consistent learning environment for pupils and staff. To support long-term operational efficiency, G&H also delivered comprehensive on-site training so school staff can confidently manage the new system.
The school’s hot water is delivered by a new ASHP hybrid system. Using a high-temperature ASHP with R290 refrigerant, the system delivers a reliable performance even at higher flow temperatures. This hybrid setup significantly reduces the school’s fuel consumption and helps lower the overall carbon footprint.
