“G&H were ever present on site and provided outstanding communication throughout the duration of the project between major stakeholders whether that be Eddisons, the school/staff, or the trust. The quality of works are high throughout and G&H navigated all challenges presented across the scheme with great care and diligence.
“Nick Mundy and Paul Holmes, alongside all contractors on site and the wider G&H team, have completed a great scheme which Little Leigh is seeing the benefits of, as well as assisting in the decarbonisation of their estate.”

OVERVIEW
Little Leigh Primary School’s heating system – consisting of two oil-fired boilers and a hot water heater – had exceeded its 20-year lifespan. Frequent breakdowns meant the system had become increasingly unreliable, leading to inconsistent classroom temperatures and disrupting pupils’ ability to learn.
Working in partnership with Eddisons, Create Learning Trust secured funding through the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF). G&H was appointed via competitive tender to replace the outdated plant and deliver an efficient, reliable heating solution that incorporated sustainable, low-carbon technologies. As part of the project, G&H also provided comprehensive training to ensure school staff could operate the new system with confidence.
Hot water is now delivered through a new ASHP hybrid system. Using a high-temperature air-source heat pump with R290 refrigerant, the system provides reliable performance even at higher flow temperatures. This hybrid design significantly reduces the school’s gas consumption and lowers its overall carbon footprint.
