“G&H were an integral part of our team on the 52 Well St, Hackney project. The can-do attitude and willingness to find solutions for the greater good as often displayed by G&H are very welcome attributes. I would have no reservations with working with G&H again in the future or recommending their services to others.”
Eddie Connolly, Project Manager, JJ Rhatigan & Company
OVERVIEW
G&H Building Services and G&H Sustainability worked in tandem to create and install a package of services to provide comfort living while simultaneously creating a building that performs to a very high level.
As part of our on-going relationship with JJ Rhatigan, we were tasked with providing a range of eco M&E related services for 16 apartments situated within a four-storey block and an adjacent semi-detached house that was being refurbished as part of the scheme.
CHALLENGE
With energy saving a key requirement from the contractor, an audit by G&H Sustainability recommended the best green technology to install on budget.
SOLUTION
Independent gas services were installed to each apartment to provide a dedicated source of heating and hot water with extraction units fitted to bathrooms that also feature high specification sanitary ware products, which we sourced and connected.
An audit by G&H Sustainability recommended the best green technology to install on budget was a combination of smart metering, heat recovery units and solar PV.
RESULTS
This will generate financial savings of £2,532-a-year and reduce the two buildings’ carbon footprint by 11,262kg a-year.
The M&E played an intrinsic role in the scheme reaching Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.
