After G&H formed an introduction to the client team on Steeper who were seeking a construction partner, G&H and Sewell worked on an open book basis, developing the costs and design together as part of the project team to achieve an early commencement date.
The industrial nature of Steeper’s new facility meant that all services were exposed and suspended above the working area.
As such the quality of G&H’s installation on site couldn’t disappoint and it certainly didn’t, delivering a superb building services installation which has truly changed the way Steeper operate as a business.”

OVERVIEW
Steeper Group is one of the leading prosthetics, orthotics and assistive technology companies.
It has approximately 110 state-registered clinicians and 194 technicians providing clinical services to some 250,000 patients every year across prosthetics and orthotics.
It is also one of the UK’s largest suppliers of orthotic and orthopaedic products to the NHS.
CHALLENGE
After falling victim to the Christmas floods in 2015, it brought its manufacturing and office headquarters together creating a new, £2 million state-of-the-art facility for 200 members of staff.
SOLUTION
Working in partnership with the main contractor, Sewell Construction, we carried out a full mechanical and electrical design and build scheme to convert an existing industrial unit into a new centre of excellence in just five months.
Detailed design sessions at the preconstruction phase saw us working closely with Steeper Group to ensure every part of the facility was bespoke to meet the client’s needs and drive efficiencies.
The building services were designed to accommodate the specialist requirements of the manufacturing equipment throughout the space.
RESULTS
The result is a facility that has the best modern day building services that create the perfect environment for Steeper Group to operate in.
The scheme was delivered on time and on budget.
